Look who's pulling up!

I walked into BebeCole's room to get him after his nap and found this.  He was so proud of himself!  He has also pulled up on the couch and chair in the living room a couple times.

What's new?

Gosh, I've been a blog slacker lately!  Here is random post of all that has been going on in the past month.

*Cole turned 7 months and started crawling.  I was actually beginning to think he was going to skip crawling all-together and go strait to walking.  He just couldn't seem to get himself to move forward, and would get so frustrated that he was moving backward. Then, what seemed like over-night, he was moving forward!  He has gained quite a bit of speed too!  And so the chasing begins...he is not so content staying in one room anymore.  He wants to explore the house, which means I need to get back in the habit of keeping bedroom and bathroom doors closed again.

*Halle had her first visit to the dentist - she was such a good girl while I was having my check up and cleaning done.  Then it was her turn.  We didn't want to push her too much.  When the hygenist asked Halle if she could clean her teeth with the special toothbrush, Halle's response was "I don't think I want you to do that."

*Cole cut tooth number 4 and 5 (the top 2 front teeth).  This happened the same week he got his first stomach bug :(  It was not a fun week.

*We celebrated the 4th of July with mom, dad, Ross and Ashleigh.  Mom, Halle and I made a cake that looks like a watermelon...or I should say, Mom and I decorated the cake and Halle ate icing.

Halle-isms

While riding in the car ~
Halle:  Momma, you need to let it sing by itself.
Me: What are you talking about?
Halle:  The radio.

My mom saved my Cabbage Patch dolls along with all of the clothes my grandma made for them just in case I had a little girl that could play with them.  Well, recently my mom took them out of the attic and cleaned them up for Halle to play with since she is now into babydolls.  There are 4 Cabbage Patch dolls, a redhead, a blonde, a brunette, and a bald one.  When mom asked Halle what she was going to name them she replied, "Orange, Yellow, Brown, and Baby Bald."

This one requires some background info....My parents have a crazy dog named Rocky who has to be on Doggy Prozac which he is given every morning wrapped in a piece of chesse.  Rocky is also deathly afraid of thunderstorms and therefore needs Benedryl to calm him down which is also given to him in a piece of cheese.  Everytime it rains, Halle (my little animal lover) worries about Rocky being scared and needs to be assured that someone at NanaPoppy's (my parent's house) is taking care of him.  This morning during the bad thunderstorms, Halle came to me and said, "Momma, I bet Rocky is scared right now.  I think he needs a piece of cheese."

6 Months

I can't believe that baby Cole is already 6 months old.  It seems like just yesterday we were getting ready to go to the hospital to welcome him.  He is growing so fast too!  He weighs 18lbs 8oz and is 27 1/2 inches long which is way bigger than Halle was at 6 months - it is actually bigger than Halle was at 9 months!  Cole has been doing very well with his solid foods.  He is now eating oatmeal, rice cereal, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash, sweet peas, and green beans - definitely not a picky eater.  He is also pretty much sitting on his own and is starting to scoot around.  He hasn't figured out how to go forward, but is surely moving pretty fast backwards!  Cole will push up onto all fours like he wants to crawl, but can't coordinate the movement of his arms and legs.  I know he will figure it out very soon.  I am still convinced he will walk very early...he loves walking around while you hold his hands and can maneuver that walker like a champ!  I am so thankful that God has blessed us with such a wonderful son!

Halle-isms

Mommy, don't be scared, it's going to be dark at the movies.  You need to stay close to daddy. - Halle told me this before Cory and I dropped her off at JoJo and PaPaw's so we could have a day date.  I guess the only thing she remembers from going to the movies with me was that it is dark.

Cory has taught Halle how to "fist bump"

After watching an episode of Sesame Street last week, Halle now knows how to draw a rainbow with the colors in the correct order.

Mommy, can you just sit down a minute.  I think you need a tea party. - Apparently Halle thought I was working too hard the other day while cleaning and washing clothes.

Mother's Day...

or I should say Mother's Weekend, since that is what it really was!

So my Mother's weekend started Friday when I got home from subbing.  And horrible does not begin to describe my day of subbing, but I won't go there.  When I got home, Cory was in the kitchen with both kids on the counter and there was a home-made card and a store bought card on the counter.  First he gave me the home-made one.  I instantly started crying.  He helped Halle make me a card and it is something that I will cherish forever.  Then I was given the store bought card from him...he wrote a sweet message and said he had a suprise for me and to close my eyes.  I knew he was going to suprise me with something for Mother's day, but I had no idea I was going to get it 2 days early.  When he told me to open my eyes he was holding the camera that I have been wanting for a very long time.  I was so excited!  I of course started snapping pics immediately even though I had no idea how to use this fancy camera.  I am learning...  Friday night we had dinner with Cory's family at the restaurant in Bass Pro, followed by dessert at Chick-Fil-A.

Saturday, we...I mean I, had a relaxing day.  Cory did some work around the house and washed my Yukon while I played with the kids.  Then he came in and took a nap with the kids.  Yes, both kids napping at the same time!  So this allowed me to go outside and read and enjoy the breeze.  After dinner, we took Halle for a special outing since she has been doing so well with keeping her pants dry (we recently had a couple of bad weeks).  We took her to Barnes and Noble to pick out a book and my girl LOVES the book store!  She was sold on the Abby Cadabby book that came with a magic wand so that is what she got.  We then took her to Marble Slab for some ice cream - vanilla with sprinkles.  Halle was so excited about her outing that we assured her that if she kept up the good work, that there would be plenty more fun outings.

Sunday morning Cory got up with Cole and let me and Halle sleep in.  When we woke up he had biscuits and coffee ready.  We went to church and then came home for a relaxing afternoon.  Sunday evening we headed over to my parent's house for dinner.  Dad smoked ribs, chicken and sausage and we had potatoes and salad on the side.  And to top it off, my dad made a yummy cake for dessert (yes, my dad bakes)...Angel food cake filled with chocolate pudding and bananas YUM!

This weekend was wonderful!  I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband, beautiful children and a fantasic family!

My home-made card

And of course...the kiddos!

Halle-isms

"Momma, my hair is in a wreck.  You need to comb it so it can go to a new place."

Ookie-S Man - This is what Halle calls the UPS man

Halle called her scab on her booboo "crunchy"

New word:  actually... - I noticed this week that Halle has been starting a lot of sentences with the word actually.

Poppy: C'mon Cole, lets do some pull ups. (meaning pulling up from sitting to standing)
Halle:  Poppy, he doesn't use pull-ups, he uses diapers!
