*Nine Months*

Yep, that's right...BabyCole is now 9 months old!  I can't believe how fast the time has gone.  He is such a blessing and I love watching him grow and discover new things every day.

At his appointment this week, Cole was 20lbs. 8oz. and 27 3/4 inches which makes him 2 1/2 lbs heavier and 1/4 inch shorter than Halle was at 9 months.  He had to have his finger pricked to check his iron and lead levels and he did awesome!  He didn't make a sound when his finger was pricked, he just sat and watched what the nurse was doing with lots of curiosity.  Cole was also a big boy for his shot, just one little whimper.  He is such a trooper!

Cole is now pulling up on EVERYTHING!  He is also cruising around the furniture.  It won't be long before he lets go and takes his first steps.  He came close the other day, but he just wouldn't let go of the table until he had his daddy's hand.  We also had to move him from the infant car seat to a big boy car seat since he was just about at the weight limit.  Cole is still sleeping about 12 hours a night *knock on wood* and eating like a champ.  I am trying to introduce some table food, but he isn't taking to it like I thought he would.  I have also been trying to get him to drink from a sippy cup.  I have tried several and I finally found "the one."  Cole successfully drank 2 of his normal bottles today from a sippy.  Now that I have found one he likes, I need to go buy more.

Conversations with Halle

Me: You are so special!
Halle: That's what Barney says! And Nana!

"My daddy is the smartest daddy!" - Halle, after her daddy built her a castle out of wooden blocks.

"Well, that's clever!" - Halle's response after I showed her how the candy comes out of a Pez dispenser.

Cake!

I started taking a cake decorating class 2 weeks ago and am really enjoying it.  Mom and I are actually taking it together with Carley and her mom.  We basically wanted to do it so we can make some pretty birthday cakes for everyone in the family.  The first week we just went over the book and the supplies we would need for the class.  The second week, we had to bring in a cake and in class we learned the proper way to ice the cake and get the icing really smooth.  We also learned a few decorating techniques.  My mom and Carley said I was the star student!  Here is a picture of my cake from class.

Sunday my family from MS came in for the day and I was in charge of dessert.  What a perfect opportunity to practice my new cake skills.  I wasn't able to smooth my yellow icing as much as I would have liked since I had an adorable little boy screaming at my feet the whole time.  But I am pretty proud of how it came out.  I'll have to make this one again during football season!

Family Photos

My wonderful friend Lindsey started her own photography business Mustard Seed Photography.  She took some great familiy photos of us about a month ago.  Here are a few of my favorites!

Look who's pulling up!

I walked into BebeCole's room to get him after his nap and found this.  He was so proud of himself!  He has also pulled up on the couch and chair in the living room a couple times.

What's new?

Gosh, I've been a blog slacker lately!  Here is random post of all that has been going on in the past month.

*Cole turned 7 months and started crawling.  I was actually beginning to think he was going to skip crawling all-together and go strait to walking.  He just couldn't seem to get himself to move forward, and would get so frustrated that he was moving backward. Then, what seemed like over-night, he was moving forward!  He has gained quite a bit of speed too!  And so the chasing begins...he is not so content staying in one room anymore.  He wants to explore the house, which means I need to get back in the habit of keeping bedroom and bathroom doors closed again.

*Halle had her first visit to the dentist - she was such a good girl while I was having my check up and cleaning done.  Then it was her turn.  We didn't want to push her too much.  When the hygenist asked Halle if she could clean her teeth with the special toothbrush, Halle's response was "I don't think I want you to do that."

*Cole cut tooth number 4 and 5 (the top 2 front teeth).  This happened the same week he got his first stomach bug :(  It was not a fun week.

*We celebrated the 4th of July with mom, dad, Ross and Ashleigh.  Mom, Halle and I made a cake that looks like a watermelon...or I should say, Mom and I decorated the cake and Halle ate icing.

Halle-isms

While riding in the car ~
Halle:  Momma, you need to let it sing by itself.
Me: What are you talking about?
Halle:  The radio.

My mom saved my Cabbage Patch dolls along with all of the clothes my grandma made for them just in case I had a little girl that could play with them.  Well, recently my mom took them out of the attic and cleaned them up for Halle to play with since she is now into babydolls.  There are 4 Cabbage Patch dolls, a redhead, a blonde, a brunette, and a bald one.  When mom asked Halle what she was going to name them she replied, "Orange, Yellow, Brown, and Baby Bald."

This one requires some background info....My parents have a crazy dog named Rocky who has to be on Doggy Prozac which he is given every morning wrapped in a piece of chesse.  Rocky is also deathly afraid of thunderstorms and therefore needs Benedryl to calm him down which is also given to him in a piece of cheese.  Everytime it rains, Halle (my little animal lover) worries about Rocky being scared and needs to be assured that someone at NanaPoppy's (my parent's house) is taking care of him.  This morning during the bad thunderstorms, Halle came to me and said, "Momma, I bet Rocky is scared right now.  I think he needs a piece of cheese."
